The 2026 season is officially underway for the Coastal Conservation Association Matagorda Bays chapter after a fantastic kickoff at the 2026 Matagorda Bays CCA LiL’ Salties Kids Fish held on May 9, 2026. Families, volunteers, sponsors, and young anglers came together for a memorable day on the water, celebrating the future of fishing, conservation, and coastal traditions along the Texas Gulf Coast.
The event once again showcased what makes the Matagorda Bays CCA chapter so special — a community dedicated to getting kids outdoors, teaching them about conservation, and creating lifelong memories through fishing. From smiling faces at the weigh stations to first catches and stories shared at the docks, the day was filled with excitement and camaraderie. Many winners are pictured here!!! What a great turnout!
A huge thank you goes out to every sponsor, volunteer, and supporter who helped make the event possible. These events simply do not happen without the generosity and dedication of local businesses, donors, guides, and community members who continue to step up year after year. Your support allows the chapter to continue investing in youth fishing programs, habitat conservation, fisheries enhancement, and educational opportunities throughout the Matagorda Bay system and beyond.
Looking ahead, excitement is already building for the annual Matagorda Bays CCA Banquet coming up on June 25, 2026. The banquet has become one of the premier gatherings of the year, bringing together anglers, conservationists, and supporters from across the coast for an evening of food, fellowship, auctions, raffles, and fundraising for vital conservation efforts.
One of the biggest attractions this year will be the incredible raffle prize — a brand-new 2026 Haynie Magnum powered by a Mercury 400hp V-10. This dream fishing rig is sure to turn heads and generate plenty of excitement as attendees compete for the chance to take it home.
Tickets and tables for the banquet are on sale now, and supporters are encouraged to secure their spots early for what promises to be another outstanding event.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who continues to support the Matagorda Bays chapter and Coastal Conservation Association as a whole. The work being done to preserve and protect our coastal fisheries would not happen without your involvement. Every membership, donation, sponsorship, and volunteer hour directly contributes to conservation projects that help ensure future generations continue to enjoy the outdoors and the incredible fisheries we are fortunate to have.
Here’s to another great year for Matagorda Bays CCA and continued success both on and off the water.
