The latest from CURRENTS

It has been an extremely busy two months here at the Redfish Bay Chapter. We held our Anglers’ Night Out on August 19 where we had a great turnout and held an election of officers for the new year. Along with the Anglers’ Night Out, we held the Beeville Fish Fry on September 18. Early estimates indicate that it was a new attendance record along with a new fundraising record. I want to thank all of the chapter members for their efforts to make the Fish Fry such a great success, and a special thank you to the Fish Fry Donors and Underwriters listed below: Anastasia Musick, Capt. Kia Survance-Gotcha Fly Fishing, Power Tech Propellers, Baffin Bay Floating Cabins, Capt. Ruben Suniga, Ron Hoover Marine & RV, Baker, 3 Ranch Hunts, LLC, Flint and Flame Cutlery, Steve Whitlock, Capt. Benny Judice, Jack Taylor and Family, Unique Services Costa Rica, Capt. David Miller, Paco Riestra, Weatherby Corp., Capt. Greg Elrod and Yeti Corp.

We are hoping to have at least one more Anglers’ Night Out between now and the end of the year, so keep your eyes and ears open for an announcement of a date and time. The weather is starting to cool off, and the fishing is heating up so take the opportunity to introduce a friend, neighbor, and possible even a kid to the wonderful world of FISHING…

Banquet

The 2025 banquet was held on Saturday, April 26th and it was a really fun event! Thank you to all attendees, volunteers, and sponsors for your support, together we helped raise crucial funds that will help ensure the health and conservation of our marine resources and anglers’ access to them here in Texas. Stay tuned for 2026 banquet details.
