Greetings from the Colorado Valley! Well, our 24th annual banquet was a huge success. Our board members and the banquet assistants really worked hard and did a fantastic job putting on the event. Our board consists of Eugene Ulrich, Danny Olenick, Trish Kubena, Gary Janda, Rusty Kubena, and Dave Fehlker. The list of assistants includes Verlene Ulrich, Greyson Ulrich, George Gold, Betty Urban, John Gold, Kristina Gold, Mike Petras, Norma Petras, Jacob Brandt, Kenneth LeFrance, Matthew LeFrance, Kalynn Hodges, Robert Hodges, Kalli Hodges, and Michael Menefee. We need to thank John Gold again for using his wonderful and gifted talents putting together our banquet program. Thanks go out to Corbin Primrose and his team for putting their finishing touches on the night’s event. Congratulations go out to Attorney Chris M. Dillon for winning the “Early Bird” table purchase as they were rewarded with a ribeye roll donated by Murphy’s Steakhouse. Everyone enjoyed a delicious steak and shrimp dinner prepared by the very talented Knight’s of Columbus team and thanks also to Brown Distributing for providing the beverages.

Thanks again to anyone and all with sponsorships, donations, volunteering, and doing anything which helped make this event such a success. Please mark down on your calendar March 26, 2026 for next year’s event.

Our chapter again participated in this year’s ICC fishing tournament. We all enjoyed Friday night’s events along with the drinks, food, networking, sharing fish stories, and especially the OYSTERS!! They were delicious. Also, four of our chapter members were lucky enough to score a few prizes of the many given out that night. Those lucky people were Anissa Menefee, Eugene Ulrich, Matthew LeFrance, and Travis Robertson. The twelve fishermen which worked very hard striving to be the top team included: Danny Olenick, John Gold, Michael Menefee, Stephen LeFrance, Matthew LeFrance, Kenneth LeFrance, George Gold, Rusty Kubena, Tim Gortez, Travis Robertson, Rich Murray, and Tommy LeFrance.

A great day was enjoyed, and we did win—the opportunity to try again next year! Wishing bent rods and tight lines to all!

Banquet

The 2025 banquet was held on Thursday, March 27th and it was an incredible event! Thank you to all attendees, volunteers, and sponsors for your support, together we helped raise crucial funds that will help ensure the health and conservation of our marine resources and anglers’ access to them here in Texas.
