San Gabriel Chapter Update: Reeling in Record Success for Conservation. The San Gabriel Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) continues to make waves in our mission to protect Texas’ marine resources while fostering a vibrant community of anglers and conservationists. This quarter, we celebrated a landmark achievement with our 23rd Annual Banquet and are already casting our sights on future events to advance our conservation goals. Here’s a look at our latest accomplishments and what’s on the horizon.
23rd Annual Banquet: A Record-Breaking Triumph: On August 7, 2025, the San Gabriel Chapter hosted its 23rd Annual Banquet at The Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel and Conference Center, welcoming more than 700 attendees for an unforgettable evening of camaraderie and conservation. The event was a resounding success, setting a chapter record for fundraising earnings, which will directly support CCA’s efforts to preserve Texas’ coastal ecosystems. From thrilling auctions to inspiring moments of connection, the night showcased the strength of our community. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Title Sponsor, Don Hewlett Chevrolet, and all our sponsors, whose generous support made this milestone event possible. Special thanks also go to our dedicated volunteers and attendees, whose passion fuels our mission. Mark your calendars for next year’s banquet on August 6, 2026, as our Banquet Planning Committee is already working to make it even bigger and better. Planning Begins for Fall Anglers Night Out: Excitement is building as we kick off planning for our fall Anglers Night Out (ANO) event, to be held in Georgetown, TX. While the date is still being finalized, we’re preparing for an evening packed with engaging presentations and fantastic door prizes. Our ANO will feature an outstanding presenter who will inspire and educate our community on marine conservation and angling. Stay tuned for more details, and join us for a night of fun, learning, and commitment to protecting our fisheries.
