CEDAR BAYOU UPDATE – August 31, 2014

As of 8/31/2014, RLB’s progress in both Cedar Bayou and Vinson Slough continues with a total volume removed to date of approximately 475,000 cubic yards of material, including the spoil pile excavation.

Excavation of Cedar Bayou has continued this week using 2 excavators and 4 off-road trucks. The total advance in Cedar Bayou is approximately 5,550 feet since the start of the project.

CEDAR BAYOU UPDATE – August 24, 2014

As of 8/24/2014, RLB’s progress in both Cedar Bayou and Vinson Slough continues with a total volume removed to date of approximately 451,000 cubic yards of material, including the spoil pile excavation.

Dredging has relocated to Vinson Slough and now material is being removed from the area using 1 excavator and off-road trucks. The total advance in Cedar Bayou is approximately 5,100 feet since the start of the project.

CEDAR BAYOU UPDATE – August 17, 2014

As of 8/17/2014, RLB’s progress in both Cedar Bayou and Vinson Slough continues with a total volume removed to date of approximately 415,000 cubic yards of material, including the spoil
pile excavation.

Dredging has continued in Cedar Bayou with approximately 4,500 feet of total advance since the start of the project. The contractor continues to maintain the silt curtains around the active dredging area to protect nearby aquatic resources as the dredge advances.

CEDAR BAYOU UPDATE – August 10, 2014

As of 8/10/2014, RLB’s progress in both Cedar Bayou and Vinson Slough continues with a total volume removed to date of approximately 400,000 cubic yards of material, including the spoil pile excavation.

Dredging has continued in Cedar Bayou with approximately 4,200 feet of total advance since the start of the project. The contractor continues to maintain the silt curtains around the active dredging area to protect nearby aquatic resources as the dredge advances. Excavation of Cedar Bayou commenced this week, with an excavator loading material into 1 of 5 off-road trucks.

CEDAR BAYOU UPDATE – August 3, 2014

As of 8/03/2014, RLB’s progress in both Cedar Bayou and Vinson Slough continues with a total volume removed to date of approximately 380,000 cubic yards of material, including the spoil pile excavation.

Dredging has continued in Cedar Bayou with approximately 4,000 feet of total advance since the start of the project. The contractor continues to maintain the silt curtains around the active dredging area to protect nearby aquatic resources as the dredge advances. Figure 1 shows the hydraulic dredge executing the full cut in the Cedar Bayou template, while being aided by an excavator.
