On Saturday, March 27, 2026, a “shootout” took place at Rusty Hook Ranch. Only clay targets were harmed. The 2nd Annual Hooked on Clays Tournament, hosted by the Lower Colorado CCA Chapter, was a tremendous success. Participants enjoyed excellent weather, strong competition, and true sportsmanship throughout the day.

Participants competed for impressive prizes, including over/under shotguns and custom belt buckles.
High Overall (HOA) Winners: Female HOA: Ashley Anderson (Full Stringer Realty Team) – Score: 87. Male HOA: Cowboy Hunter Marks (Anthony’s Auto Werx Team) – Score: 93. Overall winners earned the honor of wearing impressive Belt Buckle Bling.

Junior Division Winners: 1st Place: Team Brazoswood FFA – Kaydence Keleman, Noah Austin, Cowboy Hunter Marks, Ari Perkins. 2nd Place: Full Stringer Realty Team – Jeff Davis, Ashley Anderson, Matthew Perez, Shaytee Fajkus. 3rd Place: Team Derouen/Tomlinson/Nicar – Stockton Derouen, Lane Tomlinson, Fisher Nicar.

The event was such a success that plans are already underway for next year’s tournament—watch for details in 2027.
Additionally, keep an eye out for an upcoming Kids Fish event in Matagorda County, and be sure to mark your calendars for the Annual CCA Lower Colorado Chapter Banquet and Auction, scheduled for Friday, August 7. It is always a fun and well-attended event.
