The latest from CURRENTS

As I am writing this Issue’s update from our chapter it is currently snowing in Houston and covering the Gulf, including our beaches in snow. That is one way to make the brown waters of our beloved coast a little more appealing to some beachgoers – albeit – it’s probably a little cold out there right now. I even saw pictures of folks skiing down Bourbon Street! At the time of you reading this the weather has likely drastically improved and we are enjoying a touch of warmer weather just in time for crawfish! The fall fish fry was a big hit, and the Spring crawfish boil is always a bigger hit! Come on out and see us on April 10, 2025 at Vintage Rail (2808 Stanley Ave, 76110). It will be a short turn from the boil to the Annual CCA Fort Worth Chapter Banquet at Joe T Garcia’s in the Fort Worth Stockyards on May 1, 2025. We will be set up for table sales or individual tickets to the banquet during the crawfish boil so please grab some buddies and bring your kids to enjoy crawfish, all the fixins and some cold beverages hosted by your local board! As always, we welcome any pictures that you want to share, and we will do our best to include them in our chapter updates! Banquet

The 2024 banquet was held on Thursday, May 2nd and it was an INCREDIBLE event! Special thanks to all attendees, volunteers, and sponsors for your support, together we helped raise crucial funds that will help ensure the health and conservation of our marine resources and anglers’ access to them here in Texas.
