Thanks to all of our volunteers and sponsors, our May 10, 2025 Galveston Chapter KidFish was a great success with the total of 106 young anglers and their families. Along with the Seawolf facility, I think the weather and the setup were awesome! Our team worked hard in advance and during the event on signup tracking, check-in, social media communications, sponsorships, seawolf interactions, catch recording and the ever-important prizes, t-shirts and “Goodie Bags”, among other things. We truly gave dozens of families a chance to be outside on a beautiful day in a great setting. Very few phones were being used and moms and dads, grandparents, uncles, aunts and big brothers and sisters were there, too. TPWD was out with the drone! TAMU-Galveston had sharks teeth and skulls! Galveston Lifeguards and VICi (Galveston Tourism Van) all showed up and were a great part of the outreach. There were folks from all over the south Houston and Galveston proper area, as you’d expect, but also Dayton, Spring, Fulshear, Katy, Hockley, New Caney, Humble, Richmond, Bacliff, Crosby, and Conroe. The CCA Texas email blasts and our team’s social media posts by Patty Walker and Brenda Bock were very effective. Be on the lookout for information from them for our next Anglers’ Night Out!

The 2024 banquet was held on Saturday, October 12th and it was an AMAZING event! Special thanks to all attendees, volunteers, and sponsors for your support, together we helped raise crucial funds that will help ensure the health and conservation of our marine resources and anglers’ access to them here in Texas.
