On Friday, February 6, we held our sold-out annual banquet, drawing a full house of conservation-minded anglers, families, and community leaders for an unprecedented night of fundraising for conservation efforts. This year, Christi Romero was recognized as the 2026 CCA Rio Grande Valley Conservationist of the Year (see pic for writeup). Congratulations to Jorge Salinas, the fortunate winner of the grand prize, a Can-Am Defender Max Lone Star Edition, generously provided by F&T Valley Motor Sports, atop a 16-foot Fort Bragg Utility Trailer, courtesy of Mid Valley Trailer Sales. Additionally, we would like to congratulate Dr. Justin Cerelli, the winner of the Liberty Gun Safe Poker Chip game, a crowd favorite, generously donated and sponsored by Guthrie’s Safe and Lock Shop.

This year, our board members sported one of the most unique, custom-made, personalized Guayavera shirts designed and provided by Tulip Alley (AKA The Guayavera People) and sponsored by Lone Star National Bank. We thank Tulip Alley for making our board members look sharp at our banquet.

Banquet

The 2026 banquet was held on Friday, February 6 and it was an incredible sold-out event! Thank you to all attendees, volunteers, and sponsors for your support, together we helped raise crucial funds that will help ensure the health and conservation of our marine resources and anglers’ access to them here in Texas.
