CURRENTS – Apr/May 2019

The San Bernard Chapter hosted the 2019 Annual Fundraising Banquet in East Bernard at Riverside Hall on February 28. Attendance was superb as was the support. I can’t say enough about the participation of the crowd. Over the past 12 years we have gone through many changes, but our attendees have always held strong. Thank you to all of the patrons that came out and supported our chapter.

Special thanks to some seasoned veterans of our chapter including: Alleyton Resource, JW Farley, Academy Sports + Outdoors, Capital Farm Credit, WTX Ranch, Pekar’s Body Shop, Poor Farms Wrecker Service, K5 Sporting Goods, Smaistrla Insurance, Silver Eagle, Lupe’s Mexican Restaurant, Xtreme Roofing and Riverside Hall.  Slade Stary of El Campo and the Stary bunch delivered yet another stellar steak dinner. Thanks to all of our longtime supporters.

We had some new faces in the crowd this year that gave the veterans a run for their money.  Thanks to:  Johnnie’s Complete Car Care, S Curve, Fisch Construction, EB Air, Shoppa’s Farm Supply, Fulshear Animal Hospital, Jeff Jalowy, DDS, Bill Gerke Sales, Compton Consulting, Ag Land Fuel, Evolve and Sport Marine.

Our Brother chapters came out in full force. Thanks to Live Oak, Praire and Ft. Bend Chapters for bringing full tables and participating the way you did. We look forward to having you all back again next year.

The presale raffle was a success and allowed us to have overflow raffles at the banquet. We offered a crossbow package and a 5 gun raffle the night of the event. Both were huge successes. Special thanks to all of our help from the San Bernard Chapter Board Members and families. Without your support, none of this would be possible. The hard work and dedication to make the event a success is proof in the pudding. Thanks to Coleman and the crew of CCA for all of your help.

Our next event will be the all you can eat crawfish boil in the spring.  Talk to your local board member to get some info on the event.

Be safe on the water and leave it better than you found it. If you love to fish, this organization is and will be a great way to dedicate your time to your passion. If you are interested in getting involved, the number is at the top. Hope to see everyone on the water and make sure to like us on Facebook and share your pictures and fishing experiences with us.
