The San Gabriel Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) continues to champion the conservation of Texas’ marine resources while fostering a tight-knit community of anglers dedicated to preserving our coastal heritage. With a passion for protecting our fisheries and promoting sustainable practices, our chapter has been hard at work organizing events and competitions that bring our members together for a shared cause. We’re excited to share updates on two major highlights: our upcoming 23rd Annual Banquet and a recent victory at the CCA Texas Inter Chapter Challenge Fishing Tournament.
23rd Annual Banquet: A Celebration of Conservation: Join us on Thursday, August 7, 2025, for the San Gabriel Chapter’s 23rd Annual Banquet at The Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel and Conference Center. This signature event promises an evening of camaraderie, celebration, and commitment to conservation. Expect a night filled with exciting auction items, raffles, games, and opportunities to connect with fellow conservationists. You will also have the opportunity to win a 2025 CanAm Defender HD10!
The Banquet Planning Committee has been hard at work to ensure an unforgettable experience, and we extend our deepest gratitude to our sponsors, especially our Title Sponsor, Don Hewlett Chevrolet, for their generous support. Their contributions help fund our chapter’s efforts to protect Texas’ coastal ecosystems. Mark your calendars and bring your passion for conservation to this milestone event!
Hooked on Success at the Inter Chapter Challenge: The San Gabriel Chapter made waves at the recent CCA Texas Inter Chapter Challenge Fishing Tournament, where our board members showcased their angling prowess and team spirit. Competing alongside other CCA chapters, our team reeled in the prestigious “Longest Hardhead” award, celebrating our determination and skill on the water. This fun and competitive event strengthened bonds within our chapter and underscored the shared commitment across CCA Texas to protect our coastal resources. Congratulations to all participants for making it a memorable day on the coast!
Looking Forward: As we gear up for the 2025 banquet, the San Gabriel Chapter remains dedicated to advancing CCA’s mission through advocacy, education, and community engagement. From supporting habitat restoration to promoting sustainable fishing practices, our members are making a difference. We invite you to join us at our next chapter meeting to get involved, share ideas, and help ensure the future of Texas’ fisheries.
