Since 2008, CCA Texas has funded a wide variety of projects and programs that help achieve its goal to conserve, promote and enhance the present and future availability of our coastal resources for the benefit and enjoyment of the general public. In addition to the CCA Texas Habitat Today for Fish Tomorrow (HTFT) program, additional funding has been provided for:
- Enforcement – CCA Texas has funded more than $348,000 to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) for coastal enforcement, which is essential to our organization’s goal of conserving marine resources.
- Education – Five fully-endowed marine science scholarships have been established by CCA Texas at the state’s leading universities for marine science and fisheries management. These scholarships – totaling over $100,000 annually – are helping educate tomorrow’s fisheries management leaders today.
- Research – CCA Texas relies on scientific data in its efforts to successfully conserve our marine resources. Research is key to effectively protect our marine resources as well as secure their future success. CCA Texas has funded more than $933,000 towards important marine research efforts.
- Hatcheries – CCA Texas works with many hatcheries throughout the state to ensure healthy ecosystems along our coastlines. A total of over $365,000 in funding has been provided to state hatcheries by CCA Texas.
