We conducted our first annual CCA Come and Catch It / Shiner Fire Department Kidfish event at Green-Dickson Park in Shiner on April 18, 2026 and WOW what a turnout. We had 138 kids participate in the fishing event. It was a great day watching families fishing, spending time together and making memories.
At our event, we awarded three individuals belt buckles and coolers for fishing accomplishments, raffled off three lifetime fishing licenses and about 100 items for the participants. We gave away fishing poles, reels, fishing tackle and toys!
Thank you Shiner Volunteer Fire Department for inviting us to be a part of this event. Thank you to all the CCA board members for putting in long days and nights planning this and most importantly thank you to all the families that participated! We hope to see y’all again next year.

Please save the date of August 7, 2026, for our annual banquet at the JB Wells Park Event Center in Gonzales. We heard our guests request and scheduled next year’s banquet for Friday night instead of Thursday. We are planning to have some exciting surprises for our 5th anniversary banquet, so stay tuned to our Facebook page. Thank you for your support in protecting the coastal resources of Texas and we hope to see you at the banquet.
