2021 Abandoned Crab Trap Removal Program: What You Need To Know

By January 20, 2021April 7th, 2021News

The 2021 Abandoned Crab Trap Removal will take place from February 22, 2021 to February 28, 2021

CCA is immensely proud of our history with this event that carries out our vision of ensuring the health and conservation of our marine resources and anglers’ access to them. You can read more about it here and read the below excerpts.

“Another partner in the project is Coastal Conservation Association Texas. The program has flourished since it was started by Ronnie Luster, a founding member of CCA.”

“Luster and CCA partnered with Rex Mayes and other Texas game wardens to clean up Shoalwater Bay. The first trip to clean up the area yielded 800 traps.”

“The issue was so obvious to everybody that was on the water. I mean these things were everywhere.” Luster said.
