EPA extends public comment period on San Jacinto Waste Pits Superfund Site

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released its proposed plan to remediate the San Jacinto River Waste Pits Superfund site on Galveston Bay. The plan recommends a complete removal of the dioxin contaminated material from the site. “We are proposing to remove contaminated material and provide the community with the most protective cleanup plan for the San Jacinto waste pits site” stated the EPA Regional Administrator in a press release. CCA Texas Funds Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Airboat Repairs

Over $32,000 will Aid Game Wardens in Continued Conservation Enforcement Missions

Houston, Texas – CCA Texas recently provided funding for the repairs of a Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) Law Enforcement Division district airboat. This airboat is used by TPWD Game Wardens in a wide variety of conservation enforcement missions including search and rescue, migratory game bird enforcement, commercial crab enforcement and crab trap cleanup, as well as netting enforcement.

$1 Million Artificial Reef to Enhance Texas Coastal Marine Habitat

“Keeping it Wild” reef near Port O’Connor to be largest in Texas waters

Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation (TPWF) and Coastal Conservation Association Texas are partnering with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to create the largest artificial reef ever placed in Texas waters. The 381-acre reef will be positioned six miles offshore from the Port O’Connor jetties and Matagorda Island.
